Blessed Monday my dear embroiderers, I hope you are well and I wish you a great week. After a few days of absence, due to technical problems with my internet connection, I am back to share with you another Needlework Monday; the perfect day to meet virtually and share our projects.
Today I want to show you a little of what I have been knitting these last days. Most of my projects have been dedicated to cooking, as we are invited to the new community contest NeedleWork Your Kitchen.
To which we invite you to participate and share your innovative ideas to make our kitchens a more beautiful and welcoming place with our personal touch.

La mayor铆a de estos proyectos han sido tapetes, en diferentes formas, tama帽os y colores.
Los tapetes son muy utiles en la cocina porque nos ayudan a mantener limpias las superficies y protegerlas del calor y la grasa, es por ello que soy muy fan de hacer tapetes.

The kitchen is the busiest place in most houses and mine is no exception, that's why I've been spending time knitting some things to give it a more personal touch.
Most of these projects have been rugs, in different shapes, sizes, and colors.
Mats are very useful in the kitchen because they help us keep surfaces clean and protect them from heat and grease, which is why I am a big fan of making rugs.

My favorite material to weave this type of rugs for the kitchen is wick, as I have already said on other occasions. This time I also used a thick cotton cord to make a round mat that I can use to place the hot pots on the table. Thanks to the cotton cord that I placed inside the fabric, the mat was much firmer and more resistant to heat.
This rug was knitted in a spiral, only with single crochets; using the tapestry crochet technique, in which a thread is carried inside the fabric. In this case, instead of carrying one of the threads inside the fabric, I placed the cotton cord and alternated the white and yellow colors with each turn. I really liked the final result, since I wanted a thick and resistant mat.
Another super simple project that I was able to make was a woven bag to hang and store the matchboxes. I made the bag using a granny triangle as a base. I only joined two of the three corners to form a kind of pocket and the remaining corner I used as a hanger. This bag is very easy to make and can be used for many things.
Finally, I share with you 2 small rugs that I made to place on the table. One of them with a rectangular shape, ideal for placing the salt and pepper shakers. The other with a circular shape to place the container with the butter. They are very small projects but also very useful and practical.
