Most important things we ignore after an accident!

AS REGARDS THE SPLEEN.....

A man was once rushed to the hospital,he was involved in a road traffic accident, in which while driving a Dyna truck, his vehicle capsized, he did not sustain any external injury but was just weak, he was rushed to de hospital,where he was attended to and admitted.
The next day, an abdominal tap was repeated, 10 mls of fresh whole blood was aspirated from his abdomen, he had an internal bleeding, most probably from a ruptured spleen. That's how the spleen looks, the spleen on display was from my first spleenectomy (surgicalremovalof the spleen) over 6 years ago.

As you can see, the spleen is made of soft tissues, and not iron, it's easily traumatized, examples of such traumas are road traffic accidents with blunt trauma to the abdomen, also, fall from heights with blunt trauma to the abdomen, fights with blunt trauma to the abdomen. So, after a blunt trauma to the abdomen, please, observe for progressive weakness, abdominal distention, and drowsiness,if you observe any of those, know you may be having internal bleeding, consequently, try and get yourself ASAP to the hospital.......
