Robin Wight is a sculptor living in the United Kingdom who works mainly with stainless steel wire. He has specialized in the creation of charming and dynamic fairy sculptures that seem to dance or sometimes fight against the wind.
Wight is very open about the process behind her beautiful fairy creations, and described it in great detail. They involve the creation of a sturdy steel skeleton that is wrapped in smaller and smaller wire gauges.
The thicker forms of the skeleton, the next thicker forms the muscles and body mass, and the thinner wraps these muscles to form the skin. As his signature, Wight also buries a "heart" stone in the core of each fairy, sometimes taping these hearts with messages. Several of the sculptures are on display at the Trentham Gardens.
but it also creates fairies for private clients.
