While Northern Europe is being flooded by an endless multiday rain pour it was time to hit the South again.
I like leaving outside of the season as places are lesa crowded and especially at the beginning of the season everyone is still happy to make stuff going again and the vibe is good. And yeah, as a true Dutchie that I am...everything is a lot cheaper and also a lot less crowded, which makes everything a lot easier alsonin not having to make reservations of any kind anywhere, something I truly dislike. Making decisions beforehand? If I can ignore that for a while, I'd always rather do that.
As I am hitting the sailboat soon again I like being there a bit earlier to check the premisses for a bit. You can check all kinds of weather apps with predictions on what the wind might do, but those always remain predictions. The true best thing to do is just to be outside and see exactly what the wind doing.
And even then still...that is the wind on land and that doesn't have to be the same at all with the wind in the middle of the ocean. But at least it gives an idea of how winds are steady or that they tend to turn all day from all other directions.
Also getting used to different temperatures is a decent thing to do for a bit. Or even getting used to the strength of the sun again. After been hoovering indoors for months my skin looks more like Casper the little ghost than a boating girly. Not wanting to look like a lobster this little Casperette needs to be outside for a bit.
I love it! There are like 50 shades of blue going on here on the horizon. Blue skies and the wlsea water also had multiple shades of blue in there. Why does this makes you feel so alive again compared to all the grey that was around before?
Funny how a bit of color to life brings so much instantly!
