Argh it is such a dark day in November. Yesterday there was the snow for some distraction but today there was work and it felt like the sun had dropped already before it even came up already.
I tend to put up some music when these kinds of days are there, just to spark up all a bit and especially to shut off from all other things.
Time for some uplifters getting the vibe back into town!
Moderat - Therapy
Moderat is the collaberation of Mode Selector and Apparat which just has the best vibes in there. Often a bit dark and in mineur (I find this one as well, but also has the uplifting parts in there) but never a bad choice. For some reason I play a lot of Belgian radio stations while driving and they ahve Moderat passing by very often. This song deserves some blasting through your speakers and especially after the break it feels like Spring can start again!
Marea - We've lost dancing
Ibiza vibes all over in this song. And how much actually does this apply to the covid situation over the last year. Shows being cancelled, artists out of work, and no one meeting up. I think this song says it all, and I really felt this good vibe passing along when I heard it for the first time.
Also in the Summer I was doing some repainting in the house and this was one of the songs that kept passing by the whole time. Imust admit I fear that the neighbors saw me dancing inside in the house to this one.

Jon Hopkins - We disappear
Admittingly, I don't get bored by Jon Hopkins very often. Although the album from last year were all piano sessions (which were actually really good) this is to me what he does best: Catching a dark vibes around this well introduced tunes. I always have to think about the summer of 2019 where I saw Jon Hopkins preform in two different shows.
One was at the Dekmantel festival in Amsterdam where he did this sort of sundown set which was all very mellow. Not bad, but I had expected some more energy in there. The other session was in Zurich where he was the closing act in a tent where the roof really was blewn off while Paul Kalkbrenner was preforming in the outside area where the most people were.
It was cool to see that someone could do two such different sets and get away with both of them.
Some music, I would say we need a bit of that to get through this winter at home again. Time for some new playlists!
