It feels like photographs are the base of every blog there is. And not only blogging, I really like to take snaps from stupid stuff around me, and more than often I look back through them for no reason.

Even though getting a new phone feels like the biggest rip off in town (sell your kidney or some precious Hive to get one djeeeez), getting a new type of phone usually also means that you get a new camera integrated in there. And in general, they get better over the years.

Time for an experiment with some random stuff :)

The best new feature on the new S22 is the stabilizer when you ultra zoom. The phone has the ability to zoom up intil 30 times, but my experience with zooming is often that it doesn't get a lot better in quality.

And apart from quality, usually you get lot in where you want to zoom and exactly that is fixed now with this cool centre stabilizer. Not only can you see exactly where you are in your focus, but also when it focusses the image gets held steady for a bit, making it a lot easier to get a clear shot.

I now see on the nose of the dog that he needs some water, but that is something else. As you can see in the snap with 1x zoom, 3x zoom and 20x zoom it really stays sharp on where you would want it. On the grass, on the nose, and even on a lot of the details.

My preference would be the 3x zoom in quality.

Take the same thing in another setting and lighting. The top one was in the shade and this is in the full sun. Im not too fond on the detail in the 30x zoom of the bucket, it looks unsharp but this could also have been because I am still trying to figure out where to hold my hands best.

Again here I like the 3x zoom most, it has the best of quality, while the one with the most zoom gets a bit more pixely. Or is this because I took a screenshot also ditching a lot of quality.

But again, getting here the option to see where you want to zoom in on the screen is just really a cool enhancement, and one I need to fool around with for a bit more.

Isn't that in the end the whole idea of how making pictures works? (I'm making a big difference here between photography and making snaps, because that is what I do, not insulting people who really are doing something useful here.)

I also took some random shots in the streets from just sitting outside on a terrace. The cool thing from that is that you deal with however the lighting just is on that day and whatever you can see.

As you can see I was perfectly able of seeing which records were in the recordstore across the streets from a distance, the street signs were all very clear readable, and the signs on the terrace aren't making any jokes (the literal translation is 'technically seen alcohol is a solution')

For now I am really happy with this new toy, did I mention you can make a phone call with it as well :D
