If there is one thing I deeply enjoy when illustrating, it is creating drawings against dark backgrounds. I feel that the contrast of black or nighttime hues allows colors to take on a unique life of their own, lending each piece a magical, intimate atmosphere steeped in mystery. That is why, as soon as I came across the reference image of this beautiful kitten, I knew immediately that I had to capture it digitally using this technique I find so fascinating. My main goal with this piece was to capture the purity of its tender gaze—those bright eyes that convey such innocence and curiosity. I also wanted to add an extra special touch by focusing on the sweet heart held between its paws, symbolizing the unconditional love these little creatures give us every day.
The digital process allowed me to play with light brushes so that both the sparkle in their eyes and the color of the heart would stand out vividly against the dim background. Si hay algo que disfruto profundamente al momento de ilustrar, es hacer dibujos sobre fondos oscuros. Siento que el contraste del negro o los tonos de la noche logran que los colores cobren una vida única, dándole a cada obra una atmósfera mágica, íntima y llena de misterio.Es por eso que, en cuanto me encontré con la referencia de este hermoso gatito, supe de inmediato que tenía que plasmarlo de forma digital usando esta técnica que tanto me fascina. Mi principal objetivo con esta pieza fue captar la pureza de su mirada tierna, esos ojos brillantes que transmiten tanta inocencia y curiosidad. Además, quise darle un toque aún más especial enfocándome en el tierno corazón que lleva entre sus patitas, el cual simboliza el amor incondicional que estos pequeños animales nos brindan a diario
El proceso digital me permitió jugar con los pinceles de luz para que tanto el brillo de sus ojos como el color del corazón resaltaran intensamente sobre la penumbra del fondo.
