This is not just street food. It's a story, a taste of history and experiencing an iconic shop by eating something as simple as Samosas.

Sardarji is famous even in Delhi, as the guy's shop is located in Dehradun, close to Mussourrie bypass. I had the chance of having lunch at his store today. Funny thing is that I had always heard of him but had never been to his place. Today, I did.

The place has enough place to sit. Ideally, one would park the car outside his shop and enjoy the food in the comfort of one's car. However, it was raining today, so my friend and I went inside. Ordered 2 samosas each and tea, as we could see fresh samosas being fried when we came.

Let's take a look at the place first before I move on to the food. It isn't a very top notch place, it's a street food joint after all.

Our Samosas and tea were steaming hot.

The tea was sweet and well cooked.

The samosas were brilliant. The outer layer was thin and crisp. I like that the potato filling inside was not full of chillies and that it wasn't fried or had any turmeric. The green mint chutney in it had a nice tang of lemon in it, which added a nice flavour. 2 samosas were over in 5 minutes.

We paid INR 60, ~0.90 for the food and the food is a 5, on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being best.

In the end, here is a photo of the MAN, preparing samosas that nake him so famous.
