I absolutely dig this hmt pilot. This brand was India's timekeeper at one point of time. Launched by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, this brand was helping tell an entire nation tell time at one point of time. I remember my dad had one. And pilot, though more a dress watch, was geared towards Indian Air staff. It evolved to be one of the most popular hmt watch lines of all times. The current govt shut down the brand during its last term marking an end of an era and death of an Indian icon. That's when I was lucky to get one on amazon.
Why I write all that history? It's because I bought this watch for its history. The clean dial, beautiful polka dot markers and a calming swiping seconds hand... make this beautiful piece look good with the classiest of suits. It's no patek calatrava but for me, it's nothing less than that. accuracy leave a little to be desired though.
