The new year is around the corner and most people would have made their new year resolutions. How about cryptocurrency-oriented resolutions that one can make? Sounds bizarre? Well, the crypto space is evolving so fast that most of us average investors can surely do a lot more to educate ourselves about cryptocurrencies. This can help find new investment opportunities, help bring in more people to the crypto-universe, and also help minimize security risks that can lead to loss of money. Let me share mine.

The problems with Web3

Surely, everyone knows about Jack Dorsey's hate for the VC community and how, according to him, the VC's are ruining the idea of a decentralized Web3. Before I can comment on this, I need to understand some of the Web3 projects in greater detail. What governances lapses exist in these chains and do they add centralization to the project. This is one of my goals.

Play-to-earn gaming

I am Splinterlands falls under this umbrella but I have reading about this concept more and more recently and I do not think I have dipped my toes in this holy water yet. Surely, 2022 will be a year when I want to identify key projects in this space and maybe, dabble in a few.

Join the NFT bandwagon as a creator

I am not rich enough yet to buy NFTs worth millions of dollars but this space is heating up. Nike, Adidas, and many more companies and artists are tapping into this space and selling unique NFTs. Becoming an NFT creator came to my head during 2021 as well, but I just couldn't get the time to do it. I want to quite seriously explore this space in the year to come. Who knows, I may become the next BEEPLE!

Become more aware of security risks in this space

This is an extremely important area. While I am not too involved with DeFi personally at this stage, I think being aware of security risks in crypto and keeping up to date with thefts and scams is important. First, it helps one to protect one's wealth. Second, with rising crypto prices and new projects launching every other day, it is quite likely that one will fall prey to a scam. Best to be proactive when it comes to learning about security. Even I want to chase yield on my crypto. Do not want to end up leaving my crypto in the wrong hands.

Well, those are some of my goals for the new year. What do you guys want to do? Let me know in the comments section below.
