Spending the weekend with my orange cats,สุดสัปดาห์ที่บ้านกับแมวส้ม

This weekend I noticed that my orange cats seemed to become more trusting towards me. They began to sit under my chair and sleep closer to my table. Normally they would maintain a safe distance as these were kittens born in the bush in my garden; sadly their mother cat just disappeared after she came back from the vet. These orange cats are now almost three years old. I am so glad that they have decided to live here and not wandering off into the fields and or disappearing into the woods.

Yesterday I had to chase my weird neighbour’s brown German dog out of my garden. It was chasing another smaller stray brown dog through my garden. That poor stray dog had no way to hide so she decided to pass through my wooded garden. This weird neighbour has four German dogs which reminded me of our old Doberman dog during childhood. But these dogs were caged most of the time making them very aggressive and neurotic. I had chanced upon them for the first time two weeks ago when the neighbour decided to let them out to roam freely in the evening. They hardly had close contact with people so they were very defensive and nervous. They were much bigger and stronger than my Doberman with sets of big teeth! I came face to face with two brown ones accidentally. One was making threatening noise so I talked to him nicely while walking towards them. He became confused and hesitant. The second dog was like his subordinate so he just waited for instruction. All of a sudden, the bigger dog attacked the smaller one; he was biting hard! So, I decided to yell to him to stop and chased them back home. Luckily they were afraid on my voice and ran back home. I had seen caged dogs having some mental problems which made them attacking each other inside the cage and all of a sudden when walking freely outside. These dogs could just attack passerby at a drop of a pin.

My orange cats were in the garden when two dogs were running at full speed towards the back side. I shouted loudly to chase them out of the garden; I even ran after them. Two cats disappeared from my sight. I guess they were hiding somewhere on the trees in the garden.

After this spectacular show of my protective gesture in front of my cats, they seemed to have accepted me as their human protector! That’s when I started seeing a change in their behaviour. It was very nice to gain their trust but I would like to see them as independent and quick thinking as possible. So, they could survive and avoid dangerous situations when I am not around to look after them.

สุดสัปดาห์นี้เรามีเวลาเล่นกับแมวส้ม และดูแลมันได้เต็มที่ แต่มี้รื่องตื่นเต้นเกิดขึ้นในสวน เพื่อนบ้านที่อยู่ห่างออกไปมีสุนัขเยอรมันสี่ตัว ขนาดใหญ่เหมือนพวกโดเบอร์แมนที่เราเคยมีที่บ้านตอนเด็กๆ เขาชอบขังสุนัขสี่ตัวประจำและไม่ยอมให้คุ้นกับคนด้วย ตอนนี้เขาเริ่มปล่อยพวกมันออกมาวิ่งเล่นตอนเย็น ทำให้ชาวบ้านที่ถีบจักรยานไปมาต้องระวังตัวมากขึ้น ที่แย่คือพวกมันเริ่มไล่กัดสุนัขไทยตัวเล็กกว่าที่อยู่ในซอยเดียวกัน และเมื้อวานนี้เรากับแมวกำลังเล่นอยู่ในสวน เจ้าสุนัขสีนํ้าตาลตัวใหญ่วิ่งไล่สุนัขแม่ลูกอ่อนเข้ามาในสวนของเรา มันวิ่งไล่มาเต็มแรง ตัวที่หนีก็กลัวมากจึงวิ่งหลบเข้ามาในสวนที่มีต้นไม้หนาทึบ แมวส้มตกใจตัวพองวิ่งหนีหายไปในสวน เราคิดว่ามันคงขึ้นต้นไม้หรือขึ้นที่สูงไปซ่อนตัว

ตั้งแต่นั้นมา แมวส้มเริ่มเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรม มันกล้ามาเข้าใกล้เรามากขึ้นทั้งสองตัว มันจะมานั่งอยู่ใต้เก้าอี้เรา หรือนอนอยู่ใกล้ๆ ปกติแมวส้มจะรักษาระยะห่างเพื่อความปลอดภัย ตอนนี้มันไว้ใจเรามากขึ้น และตามมานั่งเฝ้าอยู่ไม่ห่าง เราติดว่ามันคงเห็นเราจัดการไล่สุนัขดุตัวใหญ่ของเพื่อนบ้านได้โดยไม่กลัวมัน ทำให้แมวส้มคิดว่าเราเป็นผู้ปกป้องมันนั่นเอง แต่เราอยากให้แมวส้มสองตัวมีความเป็นตัวของตัวเองมากเหมือนเดิม มันจะได้อยู่รอดปลอดภัยเวลาต้องเจอกับอันตราย เราต้องการให้มันดูแลตัวเองและเอาตัวรอดได้ เวลาเราไม่อยู่ดูแลแมว พวกแมวจะได้อยู่รอดด้วยตนเองได้อย่างปลอดภัย เราก็ขอให้เจ้าที่ช่วยปกป้องแมวที่บ้านด้วย
