Late Caturday post: orange cats gained more weight, แมวอ้วนขึ้น
There’s something funny going on around me since the Halloween night. Though I didn’t have the time or inclination for the occasion, my thought or mention of that matter seemed to be followed by weird noises and my mobile seemed to become very slow. This might partly be because I have been living in a different timeline from most people on earth. That’s why all my posts are late as my time and space have become very disorganised and non-linear. But it was good to be able to travel by train to the countryside to do much needed work in the garden and to look after my cats.
Luckily, they still recognised me and came to sleep at their usual spot on the table by the window. But they have become much bigger and heavier so I had decided to put them on a serious diet for their own health. One evening, the bigger cat, Joan came rushing in the doorway and went straight to hide in a room. I followed him out of curiosity to find out that he had smuggled a mouse inside the room. I had no idea what to do. When I came back with a long brush and a tray for getting the mouse to be released outside the house, they just disappeared. I searched everywhere for the mouse but I couldn’t find any trace. The cat has also disappeared and there was no blood on the floor. I just hoped that the mouse didn’t run to hide in other room or the cat must have taken the mouse outside the house.
One late afternoon, I tried to get my two lazy cats to follow me for a walk. They refused to come after me like before, so I had to carry my cats, one at a time, to the recycling box to stimulate their curiosity. But they just walked on the bamboo poles and sat there chatting about me trying to make them exercise. They just sat there without following me for a walk. So, I gave up and went for my short walk to inspect the tall mahogany trees which needed some trimming. When I came back, they were still chilling on the bamboo poles looking at me with a smile. I bet they had gossiped about how crazy I was to put them on a diet. They were getting back at me for starving them the whole week! Perhaps I should get them collars with leads so I could take them for walks like walking a dog! I think they might start a cat-revolution and overthrow the government in the house!
เราดีใจมากที่รถไฟสามารถวิ่งไปอีสานได้ แม้ว่าจะมีนํ้าท่วมหลายจังหวัด รถไฟต้องอ้อมไปทางเก่าจึงใช้เวลามากขึ้น เราก็เริ่มชินกับการนั่งรถไฟในตอนกลางวัน และได้ดูวิวข้างทางด้วย แต่เหนื่อยกับการที่ไม่ได้นอนหลับเหมือนเวลาไปรถไฟตู้นอน เราดีใจที่แมวส้มยังจำเราได้ แต่มันอ้วนขึ้นไปอีก เราก็ตัดสินใจลดอาหารแมวตลอดทั้งสัปดาห์ เราไม่อยากให้แมวสุขภาพไม่ดีในระยะยาว เราจึงต้องใจแข็งเพื่อผลดีในอนาคต
เย็นวันหนึ่งเจ้าแมวตัวพื่วิ่งเข้ามาในบ้าน แล้วไปแอบในห้องข้างๆ เราก็ตามไปดู เห็นมันเอาลูกหนูมาหนึ่งตัว หนูกำลังพยายามสู้กับแมว เราก็คิดว่าจะทำอย่างไรดี ก็ไปเอาไม้กวาดกับที่โกยมา เพื่อจะได้เอาหนูออกไปโยนในสวนได้ เรารอสักพักว่าแมวจะทำอะไร พอเราเข้าไปในห้องอีกที ทั้งแมวและหนูหายไปแล้ว เราดูใต้ตู้ก็ไม่มีอะไร เราก็หวังว่าหนูคงไม่ได้วิ่งไปแอบในห้องอื่น ที่พื้นก็ไม่มีร่องรอยเลือดและหนู เราหวังว่าแมวคงเอาหนูออกไปเล่นข้างนอกบ้านแล้ว ตอนดึกเราเห็นแมวนอนหลับสบายมากบนโต๊ะของพวกแมว ราวกับว่าไม่มีอะไรเกิดขึ้นเลย
ตอนบ่ายวันหนึ่งเราต้องการพาแมว ไปเดินเล่นออกกำลังกายในป่ากล้วย พวกแมวไม่ยอมตามมา เราจึงต้องอุ้มแมวออกมาทีละตัว เอาไปไว้ตรงคอกสำหรับทำปุ๋ยหมักธรรมชาติ แต่แมวก็เดินเล่นตามไม้ไผ่และนั่งเล่นอย่างสบายใจที่นั่น เราพยายามเรียกเท่าไรก็ไม่ยอมตามมา เราก็เลยเดินไปสำรวจต้นไม้ที่โตเร็วมาก เราคิดว่าต้องหาทางตัดแต่งกิ่งหนักๆออก เพื่อไม่ให้ต้นไม้หักลงมา เวลามีลมพายุแรงๆ เรากลับไปหาแมว พวกแมวก็ยังนั่งเล่นที่นั่น และคุยกันอย่างสนุกสนานว่า เราบ้ามากที่คิดจะจับพวกมันอดข้าว และลดน้ำหนัก ตอนนี้พวกแมวเอาคืนแล้ว ในอนาคตพวกมันอาจจะเดินขบวนและล้มการปกครองของเรา เราก็หวังว่าเราจะสามารถต่อรองกับพวกแมวได้ และจัดให้มีการเลือกตั้งให้เป็นประชาธิปไตยมากขึ้น
