I have to shift to traveling by day train instead of the usual express night train. I was so used to traveling by night trains as I could catch up with my sleepy. But the day train gave me a new perspective and experience of the scenery along the way to the north eastern part of Thailand. I could appreciate the vast expanse of space with miles of open space, the blue sky and the vast reservoir. My eyes needed to adjust to the bright light of a sunny day with blue sky in contrast with piles of white clouds. My senses became awaken by the simple beauty of nature along the railway.
I could see big clouds floating on tree tops; I was hoping for the cloud to fall down on the ground. I did wonder if that cloud would just melt into water or dispersed into small pieces of cotton wool. This train journey gave me an opportunity to see clouds if all shapes and sizes floating in the bright blue sky. It’s like seeing a film about clouds in a cinema. But this was much better as I was watching reality in the moment. My mind started to ask question about the purpose and meaning of my life in relations to the mystery and grandeur of nature or Mother Earth.
These beautiful clouds and infinite sky just made me feeling very small and insignificant. Whatever would happen to my life seemed unimportant as it would be gone and forgotten in little time. But those clouds and blue sky would continue their natural path for millions of years into the future. Some clouds looked so artificial that I thought some UFOs were hiding inside those clouds. They were watching the old train weaving along the mountains and reservoir.
The sky, clouds and water had no concerns about our political and social troubles in the cities. They had no opinions about bioweaponised pandemic or lockdowns or the collapse of the financial system next year. Reality seemed to be different on the train journey. I felt like floating in a limbo between normal human world and surreal world of astral journey among the clouds. My mind became indecisive or non-judgmental; my existence seemed to be boundless and immaterial. What a strange experience! But as soon as the train approached its destination, the sense of realistic drive kicked in. The mind came back to the usual survival mode of everyday life. Those strange clouds left me on the old train feeling alone and a stranger on this earth. Clouds don’t like to be near crowds and noisy people whose mind could never be quiet. I wished those clouds could have taken me away to the other dimension. But my karmic accumulation dictated that I had to solve as many unsolved karmic lessons on earth in this life time!
Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.
Stay strong and cheerful.
