Good day hivers, this is my first time posting here. I am glad I have to share something that looks like testimony. I always remember the day with thanks and I wish Almighty God to increase his protection over me.
This happened when I was in my final year during my undergraduate program, precisely during the examination period. It was a Wednesday.
Wednesday morning I went for my exam and I went to my friend's house to rest my brain since I have a day break before another exam. I went there after the exam, to relax and have fun with my friends. Later in the evening I wanted to return to my hostel and sleep but my friends insisted I sleep over at their hostel, they begged me with my favourite food then, that is bread and beans. I smiled and decided to wait.
That same Wednesday night my hostel was attacked by armed robbers, they inflicted injury on my hostel mate and cart away their money and valuables. They stole more than twenty smartphones and five laptops with more than fifty thousand naira.
I counted myself lucky because of three things.
Firstly, I am safe from beating and punishment and the discomfort my hostel mate faced during and after the attack. It will have affected my exam and resulted in an extra year. Glory be to God I graduated that same year with one of the best grades.
Secondly, I have in my possession about fifty thousand naira which belongs to my department, I was holding it in cash because we are about to execute a project, and thank God the money is safe with me. Who would have believed me?
Lastly, I was using a junior colleague's laptop to edit my final year project which my supervisor has approved and am yet to print a hard copy for the final approval. This would have brought endless tears to my face if I happened to lose the system and the content. The laptop will be gone and the project will be gone if I happen to sleep in my room that night. I saved myself from rewriting and paying debt.
When I heard the news the following day, I counted myself lucky and I praised God for taking my side.
Am indeed lucky!!!
