I've been a metal-caster for over three years now, and I've been woodworking and blacksmithing for longer. in 2017, I smithed (and carved) a steel and wood viking-style axe, and in 2018, I decided to do a cast of it in bronze.
Molten metal in a sand mold. Unfortunately, not my axe in there, but it's a fair representation of the process.
Fresh out of the sand mold; unfortunately, the blade miscast a little bit, so part of the edge is very thin. Since it's a decorative piece, it doesn't really matter, though.
