Yesterday evening I went out for a walk to a local beach. It was a beautiful evening, the sun was starting to go down, but as I took this photo at 7pm, there was still two hours of sunlight left before the sun dropped below the horizon. .

The beach was at a place called Cuckmere Haven, which is where a local river, called the River Cuckmere, flows out into the sea. It's a small river, so not much to see as far as the river goes, but the area is beautiful.

It's about a two mile walk to get there from the car park and I would normally have struggled to walk that distance, however my health is pretty good at the moment so I managed to get there and back without any problems.

It was so nice to be able to walk that distance and enjoy being out in nature. It was also nice to walk with my wife and be at the same level as her. I'm usually on a mobility scooter when we go out, it's just not the same as walking together side by side.

My wife and I found a large piece of drift wood to sit on. It was probably once part of a groyne, wooden structures used to slow down the shingle being moved too far up or down the coast by the sea.

The angle of the sun was just right and casted some excellent shadows. In fact, I took photographs of quite a few, including the small shadows cast by the pebbles on the beach, I may enter some of those into the shadow hunter's contest on another occasion. But this time I thought I would share a photo of a shadow of my wife and I sitting on a piece of driftwood, enjoying the scenery and each others company.

Just so there's no confusion, I'm the big blob on the right as you look at the photo! 馃榾

The photo was taken by me on my smart phone.
