These past 2 days I have been watching and reading about A2A infrastructure around the crypto world. I had this conversation a while ago about how agents could kill apps and how people will use their agents as proxy to communicate with others, sort of like lawyers. When people say, let my lawyer handle that... Agents would be the new lawyers.
The agent will be in charge of reviewing contracts for security vulnerabilities, possible downside and also approving payments to another agent that will also be in charge of negotiating the best price. Eventually once the agents agree on the best deal, the human behind will only see the money or service be executed. When I say money, I also mean crypto payments and with chains that have very small blocktime and fees, they can do micropayments.
As a matter of fact, I already discovered some tech behind the most popular chains that have new technology for this kind of situations. An example is the Bitcoin Lightning network, new protocol called L402. They also come with new type of payments like one time payments and subscriptions. Micropayments such as the pay-per-minute during a stream of a video is a good example of how L402 will be working for a regular user. On the bitcoin network, the Xverse agentic wallet is the one that will be in charge of doing sub-cent micropayments over lightning network.
Other chains such as Bitcoin Cash are already implementing their own version for x402 patterns over EVM chains as a requested service. The agents generate BCH micro-transactions broadcasts via a fast REST API endpoint, and receives the requested dataset or model output instantly once unconfirmed zero-conf or instant block validation option.
Solana is a different chain that make use of the x402 protocol using PayAI facilitators. Its sub-second finality and sub-cent fees make it heavily used for high-frequency micropayments like real time data feeds and per-token LLM interfaces.
I am just starting the research of A2A protocols and I haven't even started to scratch the surface. I wonder what the AI based chains like the graph, Venice tokens, Near protocol, Internet Computer Protocol and others are currently doing with these agents. I have even found out on CMC that the old AI & Big Data category has broken down to different categories like AI Agent Launchpad, AI Applications, AI Memes, AI Agents. Although I most say many chains crossover across these same categories. Perhaps a second sub-research on clearing the smoke on what is going on with these minor, but specialized chains and technology.
Even outside of crypto there is Google A2A protocol and others quite interesting tools that deliver these kind of interactivity. There might be a fully mature ecosystem of agents already providing a marketplace of services that are fully integrated with the main crypto chains.
A2A is definitely something big and growing at a rapid pace. I see so much potential on this new ecosystem and playing board. But what are your thoughts?
