So right now, I'm back in Barcelona, which is my final city on this trip. Before coming back, I had to take a late flight and managed to book almost the last available room at a hotel. However, it turned out there was a system glitch on the website, so the booking didn't go through. I had to message them, and they offered me a reimbursement. Fortunately, the hotel did actually have a last room available, so I was able to pay for it directly at the front desk.

Things are fine overall, except that I caught a minor cold. It actually started three nights ago, but it didn't stop—it got worse. Last night, as soon as I arrived in Barcelona, I managed to pick up a few medications.

Whenever I get a cold, one of the most annoying symptoms is a blocked nose, which makes it hard to breathe. I really like using nasal inhalers to clear my airways so I can breathe comfortably again. However, they usually contain menthol, which can dry out my nasal passages. To offset this, I also use a saline water spray. It helps rehydrate my nostrils while keeping them clear.

Catching the flu or a cold while traveling is incredibly exhausting. You're constantly low on energy, yet you still have to walk long distances. You have to keep blowing your nose, stopping to find restrooms, rearranging your things, and making sure you always have tissues or napkins on hand.

My flight home is early Tuesday morning, so I only need to stay one more night. On my final day, I’ll leave my luggage in storage, pick it up around 10:00 p.m., and head to the airport for my 1:00 a.m. flight back to El Salvador. I can't wait to be back home, get the rest of my medicine (like cough syrup), and finally recover in peace.

Have you ever caught something while traveling?
