As humans, we need people to teach us new things, guide us and show us the right thing. The same thing is applicable in the Hive blockchain. As newbies, you need the help of experienced people. People who are passionate and committed and who are ready to offer their helping hands. The Newbies Initiative got you covered. The newbies initiative is a program that trains newbies not only to become better hiveans, but also to become a better version of themselves.
This edition of Newbies Initiative is expected to run for 7 weeks. Members are divided into three teams (team 1, team 2 and team 3) and placed under the care of team leaders. Members are given different tasks and they are also provided with materials to help them out. As the group leader of team 1, it is my duty to access my team- motivate them and make sure they do the right thing. On that note, I welcome you all to the first weekly report of the team leaders on the progress and activities of the newbies who are in the Newbies Initiative program. This report will check on the progress and activities of every newbie in team 1.
Goal Setting is the main theme of the first task. As a newbie in the blockchain, you are expected to know; the importance of goal setting, why you should set SMART goals, the goals
You want to achieve in a time frame, and your hindrances to achieving your goals. We held a live meeting on the Smile Discord channel where @starstrings01, who is a very good teacher, lectured the newbies about goal setting. Before the live meeting started, newbies were provided with the necessary materials that would help them with the first task. You can find the link to the material here.
As I wrote earlier, the newbies were divided into three teams and each team has a team leader. I have a total of 11 students in my team. Out 11 students, just 6 of them attempted task 1. I still wonder if this is a fair number. @kilvnrex
@sperosamuel15
@zitalove
@ibtammy
@rhyda1
@rosheedkassie are the ones that attempted the task 1. I checked on the others that did not attempt task 1 and I noticed some of them are no longer active on hive. So the big question now is: did they just apply for fun?
I must commend some of my students that are always active on the discord channel and those that always turn up for the live meetings. I hope and strongly believe we continue this way. I’m so happy with the six students of team 1 that attempted the first task. It is very obvious that you all know the importance of setting SMART goals. I went through their post and I must say their goals are indeed SMART. With the right approach, I’m sure they’ll all smash through their goals.
As I said earlier, I have 11 members and only 6 of them attempted the task. @kilvnrex
@sperosamuel15
@zitalove
@ibtammy
@rhyda1
@rosheedkassie are the ones that attempted the task. On the other hand,
@josedam
@barryjennifer
@phyna
@neckkyjane15
@sportsdoctor didn’t attempt the task.
Stay strong. I can relate that some of us are busy with school, work, and some other things, I advise you to stay strong. I promise you’ll never regret it. Put in everything you got. Give you your all and see the reward coming easily. Hive is not a get rich quick scheme and that is why you have to put in the very thing you’ve got so as to reap the sweet rewards.
Tighten your engagement game. Engagement is very important on the blockchain. Engagement with your fellow members and also other authors. Lastly, don’t forget to be active on the discord channel. Your team leaders are always ready to help you out, ask them questions.
To my fellow team leaders @moremoney28 and
@depressedfuck up , I say a big thank you to you guys. I’m sure if we continue with this spirit of teamwork we’ll make it till the end of this program. My appreciation also goes to
@nkemakonam89 , she is the instructor of my group. With someone like Nkem by your side, things will definitely become easy. Thanks to the initiator of this program
@starstrings01 and the sponsors
