This week is no time to whisper. But declare loudly that it's time for the ZAPFIC50 Friday challenge. When thinking about the prompt "whisper", the approach I took was not to cause action, but to identify with a sound.
Often, I imagine hearing my name being called, or another person speaking softly when in fact neither has happened. I don't panic, but brush it off and keep attending to whatever I'm doing. For some, the thoughts and feeling that accompany these episodes can become intense. I base my flash fiction story on this premise. This challenge by 
My story is below:
Vivian's eyes darted around the room. She fearjerked a sharp breath.
Apprehensive, she stammered, "why do you whisper behind my back. If you've something to say, then...!"
"For the hundredth time mother, I said nothing!" her son Kenneth replied respectfully.
Nearby, a doctor observing the interaction slipped Kenneth his card.
