But I hope I have captured the essence of the prompt in my story in which I return to yesteryear in a school setting. Middle and high school is so much fun to write about because of all the antics teens and young adults entwine themselves. They can't help it. During those years, stuff just happens. Sometimes. And sometimes luck can follow them. Oftentimes, not.
My story is below:
Five, four. Glancing furtively around the classroom, ending with the door, Billy spat, "Bummer," as Principal Edwards' shadow appeared beyond the glass.
Immediately, Edwards presented notes to the teacher. She nodded.
Billy sat on the horns of his dilemma waiting for friend Kyle to explain their truancy.
Luck. Not today.
