중국 정부 주도로 암호화폐 및 블록체인 프로젝트 순위가 발표됐다고 지역 신문인 세나 뉴스 (Cena News)가 보도했다.
글로벌 공공체인 기술 평가 지표 (Global Public Chain Technology Evaluation Index)라는 제목의 연구 결과는 지난 6월 20일 상해 사이언스홀 (Shanghai Science Hall)에서 발표됐으며 이 연구에 의하면 30개의 주요 암호화폐 중 이오스가 1위, 이더리움이 2위 비트코인이 17위였다.
글로벌 공공체인 기술 평가 지수는 중국의 공업신식화부 산하 CCID가 매 달 발행을 하며 국내 전문가들 및 연구인들이 참여하고 있다.
이오스의 상위 순위는 거래 인증 효율 면에서 뛰어난 기술 장점, 네트워크 처리량 그리고 프로토콜의 거래 비용 등에서 비롯된다.
평가에 의하면 이오스가 잠시 기술적 문제에 직면하거나 계정이 동결되는 등의 문제는 인증하지만 이오스 프로젝트는 기술 혁신적인 면에서 매우 적극적이며 산업이 인정하는 차세대 공공 블록체인이라고 한다.
글로벌 공공체인 기술 평가 지표는 매월 발행되는 독립적인 분석으로서 유용성 및 혁신 그리고 기술적 능력에 근거해 글로벌 블록체인 프로젝트를 평가한다. 지난 5월 중국 정부가 암호화폐 및 블록체인 관련 독립적인 평가가 부족하다는 인지를 받았을 시기에 처음 발표됐다.
6월 미국의 언론매체에 의하면 중국은 암호화폐 및 ICO에 엄격한 기준을 가지고 있지만 블록체인 기술에는 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다.
CCID는 새롭게 발표된 지표는 중국 정부가 블록체인 기술과 관련해 자신감을 갖고 있다는 것을 뜻하며 중국 국내 기술 지침서로서 역할을 할 것이다.
지난 5월 중국 IT 부처가 지지한 계획을 인해 2019년 말까지 중국 내 전국 블록체인 기준을 만드는 특별 위원회가 형성될 예정이다.
최근 중국의 시진핑 주석은 블록체인을 글로벌 혁신 맵을 재구성하고 글로벌 경제 구조를 개혁하는 돌파구에 박차를 가하는 차세대 기술로 지칭한 바 있다.
