For those who haven't read my Introduceyourself post, I stepped away from Crypto a few years ago, due to some disappointment with a bad altcoin and a few losses at a few failed exchanges.
Under my belt, I've lost money on Mt Gox, Cryptsy, Coinex and Mintpal and to be honest I'm surprised my 0.226BTC was still sitting there when I returned, as I'd left it in other online wallets. Doh!
Now you'd think I'd know better, given my past experiences and losses but hey it was only worth a few hundred dollars at the time and I just left Crypto with no exit strategy in mind.
I was done.
But more recently with Bitcoin back in the news, and with STEEMIT in my sights, I'd thought I'd do a quick whip around, navigating the 2FA minefield I'd left behind.
And amazingly I found the grand total of 0.226BTC still sitting there waiting for me, which at the time of posting is worth a little over $4000USD, no wait make that $3900USD. No, now it's worth $3950USD and now back to $4000USD lol. I think you get the idea so I better type quicker or this post might become irrelevant.
Oh! And I also discovered having 2FA on your phone isn't a good thing when your phone breaks, but that's another problem I need to solve, to uncover the last known resting place for my BTC (even though I'm not sure there is any left).
But these are all lessons learned, and with failure, you grow stronger, so I'm not bitter, especially now I've found this Awesome STEEMIT community to latch onto.
And yeah I know there are plenty of other crypto communities doing great things but I'm putting the blinkers on and making this community my #1 focus.
So the only question I have is what will I do with the BTC?
I'd sure like to pay 'rent' this month and feast at Christmas but it's so tempting to buy a little STEEM to get this party started.
Of course, if I play it smart and sell high and buy low, I might be able to do both.
But we all know how that'll play out.
What's your pedigree in lost money at exchanges? Who can we trust these days?
