Hello needlework fam,
Missed sharing here for two Mondays because of my health, skin problem. The arms, back upper part lower neck, both legs and part of my feet, ho my very itchy! Rashes formed. As far as I can remember it started when I climbed the hills just at the back of our 27sqm tiny house but I call it Jurich Crochet Studio, 3 weeks ago. Ants bit me. Horrible! I am allergic to ant bites. Anyway even though am suffering this itchiness, I have crocheted two quick and easy to make items, round cactus plant and placemat, I can share on this post. Crochet is life! Ahahaha.
Round Cactus
Making the soil...
Same with my first cactus made, I followed the pattern of Zoe Creates I pinned in my board at Pinterest. I just decreased the rows for making the soil to fit this little ceramic cup and stuffed it with bubble wrapped. Recycling from the items I ordered at Shoppee. It is a good material for stuffing base on my experience while making plants that never die, lightweight finished. For the yarn I used 8ply indophil, light brown, with 3mm hook at the start and 2.5mm to tighen the single crochet stitch(sc) which was used from round(rnd) 5 to rnd 13, the closing part, double ended hook actually.
Body of the cactus
Using olive green yarn, same I decreased the foundation chain(ch) to 13ch and 22 rows of sc all in back loops, sewed, formed, stuffed attached to the soil.
Lastly, attaching the lone flower adding a yellow yarn as stamen. Woot, woot! I love it. It can be use as a pin cushion or as an additional display on an office table. Highly recommended to make as gift.
The placemat
I made this as a gift to my YouTuber friend,
I followed her cooking channel, I enjoyed it and will cook some, soon and sending this placemat to her.
I used wool yarns from one of my haul at a Japan surplus crocheting in double pull. Same, I just reverse engineered the placemat when I searched Pinterest to achieved the 13 inches diameter placemat.
I mostly crochet at night after household chores all yellow yarn must not be visible at the wrong side but oh oh look at it. Ha ha ha some are visible that's the time I crochet till my eyes dropped and slept on a sitting position. Laughing at myself in times like this. Who can relate?
