Hello Crafters,
Last Friday, I walked to the mini market by the roadside, we call "Talipapa" just about 100 meters from our new abode to buy "isda sa bato" the only kind of fish recommended by the doctor for me to eat because of my rheumatic arthritis.
While I was walking, the displayed house dress of the gift shop store caught my eyes. I right away imagined wearing it with crocheted black bolero so, I can wear it anywhere not just for the house. Timely I had extra money plus thinking what project to post for @needleworkmonday. Thus, I bought it.
This was the displayed house dress...I love the floral neon green and black print.
When I arrived home I hurriedly cooked and finished household chores. Then, started searching for the black cotton cake from my stash which I kept for how many years plus the 4.00mm hook, fitted the house dress and I looked from my gallery the bolero inspiration I found from one of my instagram post I followed.
That night even though I was very sleepy having a hard time to crochet the black cotton yarn, I really widen and forced my eyes... hahaha...little by little the floral square was formed. The following morning that was saturday already I found out what I made was'nt perfect square, I made an extra post of 13 double crochet instead of 12. I did'nt want to frogged. What I did I included it to the design. Making my error a design.
The floral pattern: using double pull of the 2ply black cotton materials with 4mm crochet hook.
Round(Rnd) 1: In a ring Chain(ch) 3, 12 double crochet(dc), pull the the center string to close the ring, slip stitch(sl st) into the first dc made after the ch 3. (12 dc)
Rnd 2: ch 3, 2 dc in same st and in each 11 dc, sl st into the 3rd ch of ch 3. (24 dc)
Rnd3: ch 6, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next, [ch 3, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next st] repeat(rep) all around, sl st into the 3rd ch of ch 6. ( 12 spaces)
Rnd 4: sl st into the 1st space(sp), ch 3 ( considered as 1stdc, 3dc in same, 4dc in next sp and all around, sl st into 3rd ch of ch 3. (4dc x 12 sp)
Rnd 5: ch 3, 1 extended dc(edc), 1 edc but do not close rep once in next st, 2 in next st then pull once in all loops to form the first petal, ch 10, rep the petal, ch 5, rep the petal, ch 5, rep the petal, ch 10 - 1 side of the square done, rep 3x.
With my size, I made 9 squares on the right side and another on the left side front of the bolero while at the back I will make 3 rows with 6 squares plus 1 square in each left and right shoulder. After I construct all squares and fit it, I think I will add another more squares for the sleeves to cover my atheletic arms. I wanna hide it, ahehehe.
Hope you understand my pattern.
Thanks for passing by...
