Do you know the benefits that we can get when eating tinolang manok?
This soupy Pinoy dish is good for me, and also for everyone.
Let us know the benefits of ingredients in my tinolang manok.
Chicken:
Are the primary ingredients. Chicken is rich in protein that builds muscle, repair broken tissue, and strengthen bones in our body.
Chayote squash:
It has folate ( vitamin B9 ). Help strengthen the body’s cardiovascular system, the organ system that carries blood, nutrients, and oxygen throughout the body.
Green papaya is one of the common ingredient in tinolang manok,it is not available, so I used chayote; chayote is the most common substitute for green papaya in tinola.
Garlic and Onion:
It adds natural flavor to tinola. They also have anti-oxidant properties that help reduce breast cancer and colon cancer.
Ginger:
It has the ability to relieve digestive discomfort and nausea and fight inflammation caused by something like a sore throat.
I make sure that there’s lots of ginger when cooking tinola; because I loved to slurp the spicy warming flavor of ginger in soup, especially when I feel sick, it helps me feel better.
Lemongrass:
I added a stalk of lemongrass, it helps achieve the freshness of the soup and it helps remove the slimy odor. Aside from that, it has full of anti-oxidant it helps in the removal of toxins from the body by relieving fluid retention that helps in detoxing and cleansing from within.
You can also add other green leafy vegetables, like moringa leaves ( malunggay leaves) or chili leaves.
Those were the health benefits we got in eating tinolang manok, as our viand today.
It may be a simple dish but it has excellent nutritional and taste value.
