Do you always reach your goals?
Yes?
No?
Sometimes?
Many times we set goals and after trying so hard, we never get to reach our goals.
And so, many people give up trying to even set goals again.
But I think we get it all wrong in the process of setting goals.
It's okay to set goals and not meet your goals.
It's okay
People try a lot of things and fail.
It's not because they didn't work hard.
Life itself is hard.
When you set goals and do not achieve them, don't beat yourself up.
Measure your goal by your growth.
Have you become better than you were?
Did anything change?
Even though you did not achieve your goals, at least, achieve some growth.
Measure your goals by your growth and not by the goals achieved.
But first, you need to be clear on what your goals are and why you are setting them.
For each goal set, let there be a strong why for setting that goal, if not, it would just be another wish list.
Ensure your goals are clearly written out and are easy to understand by you.
Why are you setting that goal? What do you hope to achieve with that goal?
For example, someone who set a goal of making one million naira in two months because he wants to show people that he has made it might be less likely to reach that goal than someone who set a goal to make one million naira in two months because he's rent is expiring in 3 months and his Mom is sick.
That's what having a strong why does for you.
Create a vision board of your dreams and goals. Write them out and post them in places you'd easy find and see them all the time.
