I remember when What Does the Fox Say? was still ongoing back in my college days. At the time, I wasn't really into stories with a short height top MC, and after hearing people talk about the cheating drama, I couldn't even get past chapter 1, It just didn't feel like my thing.
recently, I read Team Gaji’s new project, Show Me Your Bust, which got me thinking about their older work again. Even then, I didn't immediately rush to read WDTFS until Seju randomly popped up on my X feed and caught my attention. Right after that, the TikTok algorithm did its thing and dropped a video of the manhwa on my FYP. I took it as a sign to finally check it out, I was really curious why people couldn't bring themselves to hate Seju despite the cheating, and I wanted to understand her side of the story.
Reading it now, I realized how mature and realistic it actually is. It’s definitely something I wouldn't have understood or handled well back in college, I probably would've just hated Seju outright. But reading it today with a bit more maturity, I could see where everyone was coming from. Honestly, I ended up feeling like Sumin didn't deserve any of the ladies around her. She was just so insensitive to people's feelings, which got on my nerves.
My heart really broke for Seju, so seeing her get a happy ending felt so satisfying. I actually skipped the Sumin and Sungji special chapters because I just wasn't invested in them at all. Seju was the one who completely stole the show for me. She went through so much and showed so much emotional strength. I just wish we got more chapters of her romance with her caretaker named won,
seeing her finally love someone else and move on from Sumin was everything. Even though I'm reading this years late, I'm really glad I picked it up with the mindset I have now. Also, Team Gaji's art for intimate scenes looks so good, i couldn't help but admire how she draws it
