One of the most glorious experiences that I remember from my last excursion through the mysterious Montes de Toledo, was none other than being a passive spectator, but wonderfully grateful, of a sunset in the vicinity of what was an important fortress, that the knights Templars had in this interesting area of Castilla-La Mancha.
In fact, from this castle, nowadays barely turned into a melancholic ruin loaded with memories, a good part of the army left that accompanied King Alfonso VIII in the important battle of the Three Kings or if they prefer, of the Navas de Tolosa , occurred in July 1212, some years after the scandalous Christian defeat in Alarcos, a historical ruin, which, incidentally,
I also had the opportunity to meet during the development of that memorable trip.
Soon after arriving, minutes before the sun left colors of glory in its rapid retreat to the West - never forget the Way of the Stars - a large flock of geese crossed the sky, heading towards some warm country, preventing time the harsh winter that already looked close by lontananza.
Observing the geese - I have always said, that they are inseparable companions of Camino - and also observing those romantic and lonely ruins, I remembered that old Latin adage, which sounded within my mind as a sentence, said that of: Sit transit gloria Mundi . Thus passes the glory of the World.
