Dicen que no los mató el tiempo, sino el olvido, que es muchísimo peor, porque el tiempo, después de todo, podría decirse que es como la mar: siempre termina devolviendo a la playa todo aquello que no le pertenece.
[They say that time did not kill them, but oblivion, which is much worse, because time, after all, could be said to be like the sea: it always ends up returning to the beach everything that does not belong to it].

Sin embargo el olvido, así como su sicario, el silencio, son a la vez infierno y purgatorio; dolor y frustración, odio y resentimiento.
[However, oblivion, as well as its hit man, silence, are both hell and purgatory; pain and frustration, hatred and resentment].

Quizás por eso, porque en el fondo incluso Einstein abrazó una gran verdad cuando afirmó taxativamente que Dios no juega a los dados con el Universo, se nos concedió la maravillosa facultad de la Memoria.
[Perhaps because of this, because deep down even Einstein embraced a great truth when he stated explicitly that God does not play dice with the Universe, we were granted the wonderful faculty of Memory].
