Spring Gardening and Fruit Trees

Who doesn't love fresh fruit? We are blessed with a huge variety of fruit trees that love the SOBX. Some of my favorite fruit trees for planting now include: Peaches, Loquat, Kumquat, Persimmon, Apple, Figs, Blueberries, Pomegranate, Pecan, Pears, Olives, Banana Trees and many many more. Now is the best time to buy those fruit trees you’ve been wanting . Fruit trees are usually some of the first plants to bloom in the Spring.
NOW is NOT the time to prune existing fruit. Cutting now could affect how it plant blooms and produces. Non-fruit bearing trees are usually early bloomers. Some popular ornamentals include: Cherry Trees (Kwanzan,Okami,Yoshino) and Pears, to name a few that are bloomers. You will probably see the ornamental fruit trees starting to bloom now. Get dirty and love it !!!
