Dragon egg

The first flowers are always special. Especially when you have been waiting for it for a few years.
I got this cactus as a mature plant and it was slowly... very slowly growing. This year it started to grow a bud and I cannot wait to see the flower. It is big enough now to know it will bloom. Smaller buds sometimes blast.
I will post the bloom in full colour when the right time comes :)

I think it is Gymnocalycium platygonum.
And as any other Gymnocalycium, it is the prettiest bud ever! They all have them covered in shells just like the real (cause we all know dragons are real) dragon egg :)
