If you missed the news, Stripe (https://stripe.com/) announced that in April they will be dropping Bitcoin as a payment option on their platform. What they also announced is that they are considering to start using XLM! XLM also just moved into the #6 position on Coin Market Cap. There was a lot of hype recently about Ripple and we watched it soar to over $3. At first glance, Ripple and Stellar may seem alike, but there are key differences.
The XLM token is inflationary, with 1% new coins being created every year and all fees being recycled. On the other hand, XRP destroys fees, meaning the total number in circulation is getting smaller with time. They have about 1/3 the supply of Ripple. If Ripple made it to $3 that easily, XLM could go to $15 just as easy.
Stellar uses the Ed25519 signature scheme and 32-byte public keys as addresses; meanwhile, Ripple uses the ECDSA signature scheme and 20-byte hashes as addresses. XLM will have faster transactions and will cost fractions of a cent to do so. We could see XLM competing with Bitcoin in the future.
If Stripe adds XLM to their platform expect a huge uptrend. I'm not telling you to buy it, but you should research it and let the facts decide for you. XLM is currently under $.60 and has the potential to soar to $15. It's not rocket science guys. The team is there, the road map is there and the money is definitely there. Thanks for reading and happy trading!
