Good evening everyone , I'm glad to have you all.
I will be speaking on the topic an adventure to discover.
So there's this man's compound I admire so much . Not because of the building, but because of his entrepreneural skill.
The man is a civil engineer and his wife is a medical Doctor by profession.
So few days ago, I had it in mind to pay him a visit, not just an ordinary visit, but a visit to explore his compound, and his farm.
He does more of agricultural work than any other thing. And I discover he barely buy food items.
So yesterday's afternoon, I was opportuned to enter his compound.
When I entered there, he wasn't around, but I saw his wife and children. So I told them I wanted to go round their farm, and see what they've got there.
So she gave me the permission to do so. I also told her I will take some photos of her farm, and she agreed.
So, I started my inspection, and I discovered she planted so many things like ,cocoyam, plantains, curry leaf, oranges, corn, leaves used in Akwa Ibom state for making of soup, examples are Editan ,afang, nkong ( pumpkin leaf),paw- paw , pineapples and others too numerous to mention.
What baffled me most was the rod and the white robe they used to make sure the afang leaves were going up properly. It looked so magnificent to see other people's productivity.
So ,I also observed that most weeds were removed from the crops while some still remained. So I asked them how they managed to do that, and they said sometimes they pay,and sometimes they do it by themselves.
I asked them how they managed to plug the afang leaves, and they said whenever they want to sell them to market women, they will either bring down those rods or they used a strong iron chair to climb up so they can plug them.
I was wondering how much they make from those leaves alone, and I discovered they make more than hundred thousand naira within a month.
And I was exclaiming, I didn't know that was a very lucrative business, not until I met someone who was deeply into it.
I felt so excited being permitted to go round the farm and experience something new.
As a good entrepreneur, you need to move out from your comfort zone, and go out there and see what others are doing. You going there doesn't mean you're wasting your time, but it means you're going out there to learn something new.
That might help you improve in your line of business, and it can also give you new insight on other side hustle you can do.
You can imagine how much they also make from other plants.
Lastly, I must say I had a great time over there. And I don't regreat visiting that compound to see how people can turn their entrepreneural skills to reality.
Thank you all.
