Steemit --- Still the next Facebook/Twitter?

What are the down size of steemit so far? Is it really the next Facebook/Twitter? I think that the way steemit is advertise by many youtuber and social media guru is very wrong.
Steemit is advertised more like a platform to make money than a social network, which is what it is supposed to be. A social network where you and people that like your content generate a certain type of revenue just by "INTERACTING". Interaction is the "key".
So instead of telling people: "sign up for steemit, let's make money", we should just ask people to come try out this awesome platform and see if they like the reward generated by "INTERACTING" on the platform.
