Today I said goodbye to one of the missionaries who visited me and shared the Word of God with me. He'll now have to go to another area to continue his mission. Our meeting was quite brief, although, come to think of it, most of our encounters always were. Even so, in that time we shared conversations, teachings, games of UNO, and also a lot of laughter at my corny jokes and silly antics.
It made me very sad to know that one of the elders was leaving. And then I thought that, in reality, their mission is like that: they come into your life, you spend time with them, you grow fond of them… and then they leave. When they finish their mission, they return to their country, and although you might be able to continue talking with them virtually, who knows if you'll ever actually see them again in person.
I suppose there are people who leave a mark even in short periods of time. And I think that's what happened here.

Hoy me despedí de uno de los misioneros que me visitaba y me hablaba sobre la palabra de Dios. Ahora tendrá que ir a otra zona para seguir cumpliendo con su misión. Nuestra reunión fue bastante breve, aunque si lo pienso bien, la mayoría de nuestros encuentros siempre lo fueron. Aun así, en ese tiempo compartimos conversaciones, enseñanzas, partidas de UNO y también muchas risas por mis chistes rancios y mis locuras.
Me dio mucha tristeza saber que uno de los elderes se iba. Y después pensé que, en realidad, la misión de ellos es así: llegan a tu vida, compartes tiempo con ellos, les tomas cariño… y luego se van. Cuando terminan su misión vuelven a su país y, aunque quizás puedas seguir hablando con ellos virtualmente, quién sabe si realmente los volverás a ver en persona.
Supongo que hay personas que dejan huellas incluso en períodos cortos de tiempo. Y creo que eso fue lo que pasó aquí.
