We are awoken
On Gallilee's path,
sojourning dusk till dawn,
seeking redemption
for transgressed hearts
in sullied places
words, thrown like a dagger,
have crippled hope aplenty

Our hands are soiled,
through gore and mire,
like instruments of carnage,
sparkling from rinsings
of stainless water!
but accursed by guilt.
the soul is tainted
blackening by blisters

Throttling to Calvary,
as heavy laden men
weighed down by sin
bedeviled by our shadows
and bickering voices
in the spirit's corridor
seeking retribution
from our fading life

Dirt and dust,
whirlwind on repeat!
valleys and plains
on narrow roads
with yelps of bested lives
ringing and resonating
Gallilee's path is just ahead
for freedom is a gift
for the ailing ones
dying to be born afresh
