AI predicts earthquakes with 70% effectiveness.

Researchers from the University of Texas have come up with a very interesting type of use of Artificial Intelligence, because they have developed an AI that has managed to predict 70% of earthquakes a week before they occur, they did so during a 7-month trial in China. This artificial intelligence was trained to detect statistical irregularities in seismic data in real time, data that the researchers had matched with previous earthquakes, the result was a weekly forecast in which the AI ​​successfully predicted 14 earthquakes in a radius of approximately 320 km where it was estimated that it was going to occur and where it was most correct was with the strength of the earthquake, which was almost exact.

It did not detect an earthquake and gave eight false alerts, that is, there was an earthquake that it did not see and gave eight warnings but which turned out to be false, it is still not precise at all, because of course you cannot evacuate an area with a radius of 320 km for days, imagine that you have such a warning and you have to evacuate the entire city of Mexico for a week, it is not rational and it is not yet known if the same approach is going to work in all places, but it is a very interesting step, I don't know what you think.
