The best thing about going far from home to do errands is that it breaks that everyday routine, that inertia that traps us without realizing it and keeps us immersed in the same thing, always finding something to do to remain in the same place. Sometimes the world changes and moves with a small step, with the decision to break the habits of daily life.
Today, like every day, is perfect, and the best moment for any change we set ourselves. In my case, leaving the daily monotony and solving outside the house what staying inside I could not do. Life demands movement from us and each time it makes me happier to discover that when leaving the usual spaces something new always appears, something that surprises.
These photos I took while walking along 5th Avenue, a space I enjoy walking through whenever I can, even if only a stretch, because it is a very long street. Generally, it is traveled by car since it is a fast road that connects two important municipalities, Playa and Plaza (Vedado).
In this area there are very beautiful houses and old constructions, where at the time lived the new Havana bourgeoisie. Today, next to those classic buildings, real estate and modern hotels rise, which turns the place into an interesting contrast between past and present.
The avenue has a central divider, since it is double lane, and it can be walked calmly under the shade of the trees planted around it. In addition, it is adorned with large sculptures by the plastic artist Cacho, which reinforces its cultural and artistic appeal.
Between the pleasant walk (heat aside), the vegetation, the surroundings and the presence of the works of art, I arrived almost without realizing the time passed until my destination. It is always pleasant to discover that each outing is a different experience that breaks the routine. This time leaving home was not only fulfilling an errand, it was also opening the gaze to the unexpected in the discovery of the everyday.

Lo mejor de salir lejos de casa a hacer gestiones es que se rompe esa rutina de todos los días, esa inercia que nos atrapa sin darnos cuenta y nos mantiene inmersos en lo mismo, siempre encontrando algo que hacer para seguir en el mismo lugar. A veces el mundo cambia y se mueve con un pequeño paso, con la decisión de romper las costumbres del día a día.
Hoy como todos los días, es perfecto, y el mejor momento para cualquier cambio que nos propongamos. En mi caso salir de la monotonía diaria y resolver fuera de casa lo que quedándome dentro no podría hacer. La vida nos exige movimiento y cada vez me alegra más descubrir que al salir de los espacios habituales siempre aparece algo nuevo, algo que sorprende.
Estas fotos las tomé mientras caminaba por la 5ta Avenida, un espacio que disfruto recorrer a pie cada vez que puedo, aunque sea solo un tramo, porque es una calle muy extensa. Generalmente se transita en auto ya que es una vía rápida que conecta dos municipios importantes, Playa y Plaza (Vedado).
En esta zona se encuentran casas muy bonitas y construcciones antiguas, donde en su momento vivió la nueva burguesía habanera. Hoy junto a esas edificaciones clásicas, se levantan inmobiliarias y hoteles modernos, lo que convierte al sitio en un contraste interesante entre pasado y presente.
La avenida tiene un separador central, pues es de doble senda, y se puede recorrer con tranquilidad bajo la sombra de los árboles sembrados en sus alrededores. Además, está adornada con esculturas de gran tamaño del artista de la plástica Cacho, lo que refuerza su atractivo cultural y artístico.
Entre la agradable caminata (calor aparte), la vegetación, el entorno y la presencia de las obras de arte, llegué casi sin darme cuenta del tiempo transcurrido hasta mi destino. Siempre es agradable descubrir que cada salida es una experiencia distinta que rompe la rutina. Esta vez salir de casa no fue solo cumplir con una gestión, fue también abrir la mirada a lo inesperado en el descubrimiento de lo cotidiano.
