Don't be AFRAID of being IRRELEVANT on DTube! - DTUBE DAILY #38

Hey everyone!

In today's video I want to talk about not being afraid of becoming irrelevant here on DTube!

I know irrelevant is one of those words that doesn't hold much weight unless you're specifying what exactly you're being irrelevant too, but... I feel like it works well enough here for this topic. Irrelevancy is a scary thought, and none of us want to put time into a video and then upload it to get zero response.

At this point as a newer Steemian and DTuber, it happens to me sometimes. I'm still quite new to this platform, and some videos I make get little to no activity, as if they aren't noticed by anyone. What I realize and what I'm trying to help you realize (if you need the help :P) is that this is perfectly ok.

DTube is still a relatively new platform. Compared to YouTube it's still BRAND SPANKIN' NEW, and it's going to take time for the users of the platform to grow, in active user base and Steem Power. What you should be focusing on now is creating videos you're passionate and excited about, trying to gain more followers and build relationships, and in time, you'll get the response you'd like to see on each upload.

And as the platform and the users grow, there will be on average much more powerful accounts with larger upvotes. That's one of the beautiful things about DTube. After gaining a certain amount of loyal followers, you could hypothetically gain no new followers from that point on but still continue to make more and more money from upvotes, because your loyal followers will still continue to get strong upvotes in time, and they'll reward you with these upvotes for your hard work and entertaining content!

Each upvote here isn't the same. On YouTube each view is equivalent to each other (as far as the view counter goes), but here on DTube if you have a small audience of people you really connect with and they are on similar wavelengths and continue to interact with you and consume your content, you'll still steadily get more and more SP from their votes because each upvote here is not equivalent. It's a beautiful thing!

Thank you @dtube for blessing us all with your godly upvote from time to time. It means so much to us! :D

And thank you all for watching and reading. I know today's topic is a little less on point than others usually are, but this is what was coming to my mind today. I hope it provided some value for you.

Hope you all have a great day!

Take care,
Jordan
