Afternoon Steemians!
So a bit of a confession...all of the video uploading this last month has literally brought our internet speed to a halt! We have a limit that we hit in this last week which would explain why I've not been able to post anything. This slight set back shall not hold me back from posting though and I thought I would recount my trip to the local spring to fetch 25 litres of water.
We live a couple hundred metres from a spring that produces a RIDICULOUS amount of fresh water from Table Mountain. And when I say RIDICULOUS, I mean RIDICULOUS. My parents who live down the road have also just connected their apartments to the local aquifer and this spring of theirs produces enough water in one hour, to sustain an entire block of around ninety apartments! It is remarkable how much water is around us.

The Taps
It's pretty amazing to see the community pull together. It was such a privilege standing in line to collect water with so many different people from all over Cape Town. It's funny that something like a huge water crisis has the effect of bringing people together. I felt like the vision that Nelson Mandela spoke of when he referred to South Africa as the Rainbow nation was incredibly true this morning standing in line as people helped each other out to get water.
That was the highlight of my day but I also went on a beautiful run up Table Mountain and took some photos to show off my home city. Here they are...I hope you come visit us in this beautiful place.
Comment, upvote and resteem and hope you are all doing really well! I'll get the daily vlogs up and running again soon (when our internet is back).
