Hey there Steemians!
It's already Wednesday and I can't actually belive it. Ever get that feeling where the week seems to fly by so much faster than you ever thought could be possible? Seems that the older I get the faster things go!
As you may know, I've been without internet the last few days which has been a pain. Especially as I was hoping to upload a daily dtube update. Nevertheless, sometimes it's good to just change the medium you use slightly to keep those brain cells working.
Today I want to tell you about our local coffee shop, Hazz. It is a mere 5 minute walk from our place and produces some of the best coffee I've ever tasted. Not only does it taste amazing but the branding is pretty fun...check it out:
One of my favourite things is to buy a packet of freshly ground beans, bring them home and brew a cup using one of those Italian style coffee percolators that you put on the stove. A bit like this...
Having made the perfect cup of coffee, I love to drink it slowly and spend time just thinking. I find just sitting and thinking without distraction is becoming an increasingly hard thing to do. There is so much stimulation - phones, music, television - that my attention span seems to last only for a few seconds.
I'm pretty convinced that those who learn how to think will be the people who stand out in the future. Everything seems to do the thinking for us and when I say 'thinking', I mean thinking critically, analytically. Prioritising things, being able to identify true value.
I want to be someone who spends time thinking. Using my brain. Making powerful decisions that are well thought through. My sense is that less and less people are able to take information, whether it be news stories, twitter information, youtube, facebook, and apply rigorous thought to understand whether the information is valid.
In an age where offense seems to rise fast and blame seems to be levelled all too easily, can you be someone who takes hold of the facts and tests them rigorously?
Do you think?
Enjoy the rest of your day!
