A few weeks ago, I saw that my good buddy 
He took some time off but I still kept in touch with him on other social media platforms. But as soon as I saw him back on the blockchain, I immediately thought to myself...The NFL Season!
Huh?
O.K., let me explain....
Jimmy and I are big fans of American football. And we were both heavy users of Threads (LEO) for years. One of the cooler features or ideas that the Threads community came up with was a 'threadcast', which was essentially one person starting a discussion and then a live chat taking place beneath it.
Some of these threadcasts could end up having hundreds if not thousands of comments beneath it. And they were so much fun.
Something Jimmy and I did back then was start a threadcast during NFL games and specifically on Sundays during all the weekend games.
This drove engagement, got people talking and generated a lot of interest in actually using the platform for every day chats.
When Jimmy took a break, I kind of rode off into the sunset with Threads as well. And that's a whole other story lol
But when Jimmy jumped back on chain, I immediately thought...NFL Season means we can fire up some new 'casts'...And that's where we started doing a #snapcast this week:
So we fired up the first one on Wednesday evening. And I admit, it was basically just Jimmy and I going back and forth for a few hours. But check out the comments...
We had a great time talking football and had a blast doing this snapcast. Of course, we were blessed to have another NFL game last night too, so we started another one last night...
Here's the beauty of this one....
While we didn't get as many comments, we actually had multiple people stop in and give us a shout out or two. Which showed me once again how powerful these kind of 'chats' on chain can be.
And please note, this is not limited to #sports either.
You can fire these up for anything, any topic, any niche....It's a great way to interact on chain, live, and discuss any topic you wish.
I know what I'm going to be doing on Sundays over the next few months, and I'm grateful that we have the tech that can allow us to do this.
I also think this is what happens when we think outside the box and try things that are very popular in traditional social media as well.
We don't need to go to Twitter to do this, and sure engagement might not be as high as it is on traditional social media, but this is a start....
And this is where I would much rather be discussing things that I have a passion for.
