Hello and good morning to all,
Today I'd like to share a piece that my friend started at my carving competition in Tupper lake NY.
It was 2015 and my friend from Massachusetts came to my event to compete in the carving competition. He had 9 hours throughout the weekend to carve his masterpiece.
Here is how far he got within the first 2 hour session.
He didn't completely finish it by the time the event ended, but did manage to pull off 2nd place.
He asked me if I could finish it and display it at my shop. I did, and it's been sitting there ever since.
It takes the right person to come and buy such a carving. And they haven't been around just yet.
It's been displayed outside for 7 years in the rain, ice, snow and sun.
Aged well in my opinion..
I had to move him to my new workshop yesterday and decided he needs some TLC. So I'll be working on him soon, with some light sanding and a fresh coat of varnish.
