Russia's Central Bank (CBR) recommends classifying cryptographic forms of money, including bitcoin, as digital products, for the reasons of tax collection, said Deputy CBR Governor Olga Skorobogatova on Thursday.
As per the CBR appointee senator, the proposition was upheld by all services and the CBR is wanting to convey the principal draft of important directions in a month.
The Russian government has been reflecting on the official position on cryptographic money for over a year, considering at one point its criminalization, as any cash is prohibited by law, including virtual cash, if not endorsed by the Central Bank of Russia.
