My husband and I have a rule (among many others): “Happy Shopping.”
It simply means including something that brings us joy, no matter how small.
It doesn’t have to affect our budget or take the place of another important expense. But amid a sea of responsibilities and commitments, making our inner child happy is a priority we won’t forget.
It could be something useful with a fun shape. Like these potato-chip-shaped bag hooks, for example.
O algo comestible.
Or something candy
Or something that always makes us smile when we see it or use it.
Because life is too short and hard enough as it is to do nothing about it. We both know firsthand what it’s like to deal with bitter people who seem to have lost their sense of color and scent, who no longer remember what makes them feel good—they just complain and seem to prefer problems over solutions. And it’s not about being consumers; it’s about enjoying every little detail and keeping the spark of joy alive before we wither away.
And tell me, would you apply it in your daily life? Would you like me to continue sharing our internal rules for being happy?
