After training as a Civil Engineer and graduating from the university, i was sent to a power transmission company to serve my one year mandatory service to my country at Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). The transmission station is the middle man between the generating station and the distribution station .
So today 24/06/2018 i finally moved to Protection Control and Monitoring (PC&M) department of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Aba subregion after spending 2month undergoing safety training with the Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) department of the company. I was taken to see the power grid closeup, the switch yard( which comprises 330kv/132kv power transformers, current transformers, voltage transformers, circuit breakers, isolators etc.), system operations, control room, communications, relay room, line department, Electrical maintainace department (EMD) amongst other things.
