Hi Hivians!
Today's Wednesday walk happens to be my most tedious and risky experience because I was both taking shots and shopping in a busy market. Fortunately, I was taking all my shots while I was on a tricycle. The reason I didn't take out time to be snapping and walking at the same time was because of the illegal incidents that happen in the market; my elder brother's phone was handpicked on the last market day.
Regarding the market, it is commonly known as itam market, situated at the southern region of Nigeria. The market doesn't operate daily, it has a specific day that people could come to buy and sell. Oftentimes, if the market day is on Monday this week, the next week will definitely be Tuesday, this process continues till it gets to Saturday, then they'll return and begin with Monday again.
Coincidentally, it happens that the itam market was today being Wednesday;
I focused more on foodstuffs today because of the season we are in, Christmas. Though I know other ways of expressing the joy is to buy clothes, shoes, and other necessary goodies, however, I decided to celebrate mine this way. My mum plans to cook fried rice with fried chicken on Christmas day, which is on the 25th of December. So most of the things bought were ingredients needed to cook this delicious meal.
To be sincere, I am not ashamed to let us know that this is my first time going to the market alone. Yeah, I know I was meant to get used to these right from little, but for me I want to say that I wasn't exposed to it. Now I've gotten the opportunity to go alone and learn the hard way to buy stuff. I almost got lost in the market while going around to buy things, but one road led to another, that was how I found my way out, lol.
So because of how busy the place is, the waste disposal is nothing to write about; despite where it is being disposed of, traders do sell their goods close to where it is and definitely it is not hygienic.
As a novice in the market, I took pictures because of the fear of being handpicked. I hope my little experience will seem to you, readers; on the other hand, share in the comment box how you spent your Wednesday.
Thank You For Reading ❤️
