The answer is yes. Comedy movies help to deal with depression. Imagine yourself when you're sad. Then you see something funny and it immediately makes you feel better, even if it's just a little bit. That's exactly how comedy movies work on us too.
When we're depressed we feel an overwhelming sense of melancholy and it's been said that the best way to deal with it is to surround yourself with friends, family and good vibes generally. But not everyone can handle all those people at once. So you can start by watching a few comedy movies. It'll put a small smile on your face and soften you up. It's a good way to start the healing process even though it may not be enough to cure it completely. Speaking as someone who has been depressed, I know how it can be. But when I was depressed I know watching some old Martin Lawrence and Eddy Murphy movies helped a great deal.
