It's indeed another moment of self reflection, let's consider a talk on quiet time. Sending along my greetings to you all, hoping you all are doing good today....
It's a swift reminder that your quiet time is not a spiritual discipline. Rather It's considered a survival strategy. Am not saying this to make it feel heavy.
I say it because the version of you that skips prayer and tries to carry this season alone is not okay. You may look okay. You may function. You may get through the day.
But something is running low that busyness cannot refill.
There is a reason David returned to prayer after every battle, every failure, every victory. Not because he was required to. Because he understood something most believers spend years learning.
You cannot give out of empty. You cannot lead out of depletion. You cannot fight from a place you never return to.
Psalm 63:1 says, “O God, You are my God. Early will I seek You. My soul thirsts for You.”
That’s not a casual verse. That’s a man who had been in the wilderness. Who had been betrayed, hunted, broken and stripped.
And his response to all of it was to seek God first. Not last. Not when things calmed down. At first.
It's because David knew that everything else he was called to carry depended on what happened between him and God before anything else began.
That is the same truth you are living right now. Your family needs the version of you that prays. Your purpose needs the version of you that prays. Your faith needs the version of you that prays.
Not the version that reads about prayer and means to start.
The version that actually does it. Today. Tomorrow. Every morning before the noise begins.
Because what gets built in that quiet place is what holds everything else together.
